One of the most popular apps for smartphones and tablets won't show up on the "Most Popular" lists at iTunes or at Google burberry handbags outlet Play. Pew Internet reported last year that e-mail was the fourth-most popular activity among smartphone owners in the U.S., done by 76 percent of them. E-mail was beat only by texting, taking pictures, and sending pictures and video. No doubt some of that sending was done via e-mail.

ComScore reported that for the last quarter of 2011, e-mail was the third-most popular activity on feature and smartphones in the US, done by 41 percent of mobile users, again coming after texting and taking pictures.

Given this much usage, you'd think that the e-mail apps on our phones and tablets would get a lot of attention by their developers to work well. With Apple's iOS operating system used by the iPhone and burberry beige handbag the iPad, I've found this to be the case. With Android, which is backed by Google, the e-mail app feels like an afterthought.

The biggest issue overall is that it feels like there is no native Android e-mail app. Each device maker seems to use its own app. Even burberry ties the same Android manufacturer, such as Samsung, will have e-mail apps that act differently from phone to phone.

I'll go on a little tour of how Android falls down versus iOS below, in hopes that someone--anyone--at Google will solve the problem. I had one Googler specifically ask me for this (you know who you are), so fingers-crossed that it might make for some changes.

The court papers didn't name the former employer that Monsegur bilked for $15,000 in credit card charges. Monsegur has been unemployed since the spring of 2010. Monsegur's deal with prosecutors could still leave him exposed to substantial jail time. The agreement, initially filed in secret last August, said he faced a minimum mandatory sentence of up to two years in jail, and more than 122 years in prison if a judge gave him the maximum punishment for every count.

His extensive work with the FBI, however, makes a harsh sentence like that extremely unlikely.

Lastly, the deal said that if Monsegur began fearing for his own safety, he might be enrolled in the federal witness protection program, and his "family and certain loved ones ... relocated under a new identity."

Monsegur's lawyers have repeatedly declined requests for comment, and attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful.
